A rather pretty + unconventional ad for funeral services in Japan by Tokyo-based ad agency I&S BBDO. Creative director Mari Nishimura decided to create a real-size human skeleton made from pressed flowers.

A French phrase meaning “Such is life” / “This is just the way life is” / “That’s life”, comes to mind this week! :)

12 Years of DFA: Too Old To Be New, Too New To Be Classic
by RedBullMusic
I was the first guy playing Daft Punk to the rock kids.
I played it at CBGB’s.
Everybody thought I was crazy.
– LCD Soundsystem, Losing My Edge.
Revolutionary. Such a cool story + flawless editing.
It’s no secret that i absolutely ♡ Pinterest, and this is just one of the
many reasons why…
When they announced last week that they made some improvements
to the cleaner + simpler new look, i felt the urge to reach out and confess
my undying ♡ to them!
Shortly after doing so, I received a smile-inducing response which can be
read above - they sure know how to LISTEN to their community.
Also, i’m extremely happy ‘Recent Activity’ got an upgrade. Yay!
Andy, Andy everywhere! (at World’s Biggest Bookstore)
Since my boyfriend is a Bibliophile, within hours of arriving in Toronto we had visited the World’s Biggest Bookstore (– although it’s not actually the World’s Biggest Bookstore, it’s the biggest bookstore I have ever set foot in!) I was overwhelmed and in awe of the sheer abundance of packed bookshelves on both floors.
Situated in an old converted bowling alley on Edward St. (just north of the Eaton Centre) the decor and atmosphere was strangely reminiscent of ‘Bargain Books’ circa 1990.
Being the nomad that I am, I found myself amidst the many, manyyyy rows of travel books… immediately drawn to Andy Warhol’s New York City: Four Walks, Uptown to Downtown. A guidebook written by Thomas Kiedrowski, who leads tours to Warhol sites in NYC.
If you ever find yourself in Toronto and looking for a new book/magazine to love, check out the World’s Biggest Bookstore. There’s also a pretty cool independent bookstore BMV, right next door!
“In the future everybody will be world-famous for 15 minutes.”
Andy Warhol has come to Belfast’s brand new arts venue, The MAC.
Talk about a visual feast! – This weekend, I was lucky enough to visit a
major retrospective of the iconic (+ my absolute fav.) pop artist’s work.
If he were here today, he would definitely be blogging + tweeting + instagram-ing!

Alabama Shakes “Always Alright” (via warrenfang)
Because every single one of us is at least a little f*cked up.
A well crafted comedy/drama about mental illness.
An impressive piece of filmmaking – i laughed, i cried + this song is Superb. The sweet soundin’ Alabama Shakes, Brittany Howard is one seriously talented lady.
Hair-Chalking How-To: The art of pastel hair chalking
by cool NYC hair stylist Sera Sloane
[Sera Sloane runs an invite-only hair and makeup studio called Only Child. She also does hair for commercials, print, music videos + has a column on Opening Ceremony’s website called ‘Hairstyle File.’]
I would ♡ to try this, anyone tried it on lighter blonde hair? – i’ve got a feelin’ i’d end up more like this!
I fell in love with a window today…

A tad pricey, but still, iwantiwantiwant!

You can buy them (for me) here ;-]
You either completely detest, or absolutely ♡ Wes Anderson’s film-making style. For me, it is the latter.
1965 + Nostalgia + Prettyness + Young Love + Escapism = A perfectly charming film!
